Holiday Summary
This cruise is a real taster of the Mediterranean! It starts on the Jewel island of Majorca and works its way round some of the most spectacular and interesting destinations within Europe!!
Description
Ticking off Italy, France and Spain,
this cruise is a great introduction to the Med. Leaving Palma,
you'll spend a day at sea before reaching Trapani. The pretty
harbour here is a treasure trove of Greek, Arab, Roman and Norman
sights. Don't miss sampling some waist-bustingly good seafood while
you're here, before you set sail for Naples. Here, you'll be able
to take your pick of some of Italy's most popular sights. Hike up
to the top of Mount Vesuvius. Head off in the direction of
Herculaneum or Pompeii. Or stay in the heart of the city itself and
pay a visit to the swanky shops of Via Toledo. Day five sees you
move on to Olbia, which occupies a prime slice of Sardinia's
glamorous Costa Smerelda. The old town is home to the 17th-century
Church of St Paolo, as well as Roman remains like the old defence
walls and thermal baths. On day six, the spotlight falls on Toulon
- your gateway to another exclusive stretch of coast. From here,
you can drop in on the glitterati in stylish St-Tropez. Then it's
on to Barcelona. Must-see sights here include the Sagrada Familia,
Gaudi's unfinished church, and Parc Guell, another of his grand
designs. Factor in all the markets, museums and monuments you could
wish for, and Spain's most cosmopolitan city is a great place to
round off this trip.
