Description
You will stay at the lovely new four star Hotel Ramada, situated between Salo and Desenzano, just a mile from the centre of the little village of Moniga, close to the western shore of the lake. The hotel offers a very attractive restaurant, pretty patio terrace, bar and beautiful swimming pool. All the well-appointed rooms have a balcony or terrace and feature private facilities with a shower, TV, telephone, hairdryer and minibar. For a small charge the hotel can provide a minibus service to the nearby villages of Moniga and Desenzano.
ITINERARY
DAY 1 UK/Verona or Milan
Meet your travelling companions at the airport and depart on your
flight to Verona or Milan. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for a
seven night stay. This evening there will be a welcome drink before
dinner.
DAYS 2 TO 7 Lake Garda
Free to enjoy our included excursions:
Lake Garda - A full day tour to see some of the beauty spots on this fabulous lake, surrounded by lush groves of olives, vines and citrus trees. Stop at one of the many delightful resorts where you can shop, relax with a drink and admire the spectacular scenery. You will also enjoy an included boat trip on the lake.
Venice - There is nowhere on earth like this extraordinary city of canals, palaces and Renaissance architecture. See all the main sights such as St. Mark's Square, the Rialto Bridge and the Doges' Palace on our full day excursion. Take a stroll around the hidden piazzas or perhaps enjoy a gondola ride through the network of canals (extra cost).
Verona - A three-quarter day tour to one of Italy's most beautiful cities, the home of 'Romeo and Juliet', with its magnificent Roman Arena dominating the historic centre. There will be time to explore, relax at a pavement café or browse around the shops in Via Mazzini.
The following excursions are optional:
Cliffhanger Lunch - A half day trip to Tremosine, a resort high above Limone, including a scenic drive along the route featured in the new James Bond film. Enjoy a 'cliffhanger' lunch, so called because of the 'Balcony of Thrills' setting with panoramic views over the lake.
The Gardens of Sigurta - The beautiful gardens of Sigurta are a spectacular oasis of greenery at the south of Lake Garda and are considered to be one of the most beautiful in Italy. The gardens cover a vast area with 18 ponds, a herb garden and the Great Lawn and can be visited on foot or aboard a miniature train to help you see the best the gardens have to offer in whichever season you visit.
On the final evening enjoy a farewell get-together.
Day 8 - Verona or Milan/UK
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
